When George left his office on Christmas Eve evening, he saw a little lad looking at his new car with admiration. The child questioned, “Is this your car, sir?” with curiosity. “Yes, my brother gave it to me as a Christmas present,” George said, nodding. Surprised, the boy said, “Your brother gave you a car for free? The boy was taken aback. “You mean you did not pay for it when your brother gave it to you? I wish, boy. He paused. George was aware of what he would hope for. He would have wished he had a sibling like George’s. But Georges was not prepared for what the boy stated. The youngster said, “I wish I could be a brother like that.”
For a little moment, Reggie was unable to speak, so he added rashly, “Would you like to take a ride in my automobile?”
Christmas Story
The boy eagerly accepted the offer. The child asked George to pull over in front of his house after a brief drive. George figured the child wanted to show his neighbors the fancy car. But he had been wrong.
The boy said, “Can you stop by those two steps?” He climbed the stairs quickly and came back with his younger brother, who was physically challenged. He put him on the bottom step, and the youngster cuddled up beside him, pointing happily at the car. “Look, Buddy, exactly as I previously explained. He did not have to pay for it, as his brother handed it to him for Christmas. When I give you a car like this one day, you will be able to see all the lovely things I have been telling you about in the Christmas displays.”
After exiting the vehicle, George assisted the youngster in settling his brother into the front seat. The three of them set out on an unforgettable holiday journey with happiness shining in their eyes.
George saw the deep significance of Jesus‘ statement that “It is more blessed to give…” on that Christmas Eve.
